Living under Construction

For the last two months I’ve been an involuntary part of a construction site.
The house next to ours was completely torn down and then rebuilt from the ground. Most of the time we were all just fed up by the constant noise and the construction workers who always showed up way too early.

Nevertheless, it was also interesting to see the progress, every day you could notice some changes.
First there were the foundations dug deep into the ground.
Then layer after layer the walls followed.
Since I live on the top floor I could see everything from my window.

One day I was doing some work at my desk when a strange scene took place in front of my eyes. A small excavator was lifted up in the air and fleeted right by my window. For a few seconds a thought ran through my mind that it could fall down and just crash into our apartment. But then I just laughed and watched this heavy machinery float through the air.

The unexpected perks of home office.

Welcome to Day 15 of 31 Days of Mundane Narratives! For the month of October I will be a storyteller. Together with a few friends we will browse the forgotten photos in our galleries and tell the stories that are so often lost in busyness.
