He said, “Let there be light”, and there was light.
He said, “Let the earth bring forth crops and flowers and trees”, and the earth was suddenly green.
He said, “Let there be animals of all kinds”, and all the big and small animals started populating the earth.
He said, “Let there be”, and it came into being.
God’s business is to create.
He said, “Let us make man”.
When we showed up on the scene, things changed.
We were not just created, we were made with a mandate. We have a business to do here.
We are called to reign.
Our business is to create.
This might sound like an exclusive thing that artists do with paint and canvas or a piece of clay, but to create goes much further than that.
It touches upon the little situations of life we might call ordinary.
This is where our business is.
This is where we are supposed to create.
Create hope by speaking words of encouragement into a desperate situation.
Create awareness by raising your voice for the things that really matter.
Create authenticity by being vulnerable about yourself, your life, your beliefs.
Create relationships by investing time and heart space into others.
Create community by setting the table and inviting others to share a meal with you.
Create beauty by focusing your eyes to the small, the extraordinary in the ordinary.
Create resurrection where the spirit of death has settled in and blurred the view of hope and life.
With so much destruction surrounding us, we certainly don’t need to add to that.
Don’t create division and despair.
Create life.
Writing for Five Minute Friday today.
I love how you begin this with creation, bring it to the mandate given to humanity and then flesh it out with statements of vision. Create hope, awareness, authenticity…all the way to resurrection: so needful and so good. Thanks for sharing. Visiting from FMF #13
Thank you so much, Shannon!
Profound! Love that you reduced it down so practically as well – that mindset is very helpful for me 🙂
Me too! So I’m mostly preaching to myself here, but glad I’m not the only one… 🙂
THIS: “Create resurrection where the spirit of death has settled in and blurred the view of hope and life.” Yes! I’m in the 51 spot this week.
Thanks! Wow, you’re really way back this time… 🙂
